Why Church?

Why Church?

To many of you, Emmanuel Bible Church is new, untried, and unknown, just as you are to us. We would be delighted for an opportunity to meet you, and for you to meet us. For that matter, we would love for you to be of help to us, as we serve God with a Christ-centered focus. We are here to help and encourage you through the teaching of God's Word and through biblical fellowship.

Church matters because God matters.

Some may even ask, "Why does a place like Emmanuel even matter?" Church matters because God matters. God matters because he is the loving creator who has made us for a relationship with himself. Most of us are keenly aware of our desire for relationships, even if we are not quite sure why. What typically happens is we try to satisfy our desires by pursuing certain dreams: dreams of longer vacations, finding "Mr. Right", having children, or the perfect job. But many discover that the actual fulfillment of their dreams ends up being a nightmare. The saddest (and scariest!) moment in life is when you accomplish what you thought would finally bring you fulfillment and it leaves you empty.

Our desires are actually an echo of an ultimate desire, a desire for a relationship with the God who made us.

Nothing seems to deliver the joy it promises. Why? The answer is that our desires are actually an echo of an ultimate desire, a desire for a relationship with the God who made us. Every unfulfilled desires reminds us that we are made for something bigger and grander than anything in this life. We are eternal beings and only something eternal can deliver eternal joy. This comes to heart of what it means to be a Christian involved in a church. At its core Christianity isn't about ethical norms or unexplainable experiences. Christianity is about a personal relationship with the one true God though Jesus Christ his Son. Church matters because your eternal joy is at stake. And Jesus has come that our joy might be full.

Please accept our personal invitation to visit our church family. Every member of this community is special to us. We look forward to getting to know you and answering questions you may have about God.
